I think guards are nothing more then people who want to be police
officers but couldnt make it in the police force. From my experience
with them, most are a lazy group of individuals. The female guards
start out looking ok, but after a few years working in a jail there
ass goes under a huge transformation. I think its time you guards
thought about what keeps you employed. Thats right its CRIME and
criminals. Now when you go to work today get off your ass and hug a
con.

And if there are any guards reading this from Ontario, specifically
the East Detention Centre, Hello and F_c$ you!

Your first mistake is in the first 2 words you used, as you obviously
don't.

I for 1 sure didn't want to be a police officer. My goal was to
transfer into a different area of state classified civil service,
using corrections as a way into the system. Things haven't gone that
way, but so what - $50,000 US$/year, good benefits, and retiring with
a full pension when I'm 52 isn't that bad. So is the fact that with
my seniority I'm virtually lay-off proof.

If there wasn't so much crime and so many criminals there would be
plenty of other employment opportunities, as the capital that is used
up by incarcerating criminals could go to other purposes.
